We picked up the Meridian Trimmer Original to see if it actually holds up to the “no nicks, no cuts” reputation it’s built online, and to find out if it’s worth considering next to bigger names like Manscaped. Here’s what stood out the moment we opened the box, plus our honest first reaction after the initial use.

What’s Actually in the Box

Right out of the packaging, the setup is pretty straightforward: the trimmer itself, two guide combs, a small cleaning brush, and a USB charging cable. It’s worth noting there’s no charging dock included with this version, that’s reserved for the Plus model, so if a dock matters to you, that’s a real point of difference to know going in.

The trimmer itself feels lighter than expected, with a soft-touch, non-slip shell that’s comfortable in hand. The color options (we went with Sage) give it a slightly more premium look than the typical all-black grooming tool, which was a nice surprise.

First Feel and Initial Reaction

Once it was charged and ready to go, the first thing we noticed was how quiet it runs compared to other trimmers we’ve tried. No jarring buzz, no awkward vibration, just a smooth, steady hum.

The real test, of course, is the no-nicks claim. This is one of the most debated points in customer reviews, with plenty of people split on whether it delivers. For now, based on the unboxing and first impression alone: build quality feels solid, the trim itself felt comfortable and precise, and the overall package (guide combs, cleaning brush, charger) covers the basics well.
